What Is Found Property?
To locate or recover something lost or misplaced. Someone who finds something can be it's keeper, however, that doesn't make the finder of lost property necessarily the rightful owner. Found property can include jewels, electronics, money or an animal that has gone a stray;
"I found a cell phone yesterday, I called myself with the number, then called the phone and left a message to return it to it's rightful owner."
"I found a cat, it seems to be lost. I'm sure the owner is looking for it since it is well fed and healthy."
"When I found an Apple iPod, I reported it on Stolen Lost & Found Online and got a $50 reward!" -Steve
